In a significant stride towards sustainable energy solutions, Turkish start-up RumiTech clinched 2nd place in the InnoEnergy category at the EIT Jumpstarter Grand Final in 2023. Their innovative approach to smart energy solutions, combining solar and wind power, garnered attention and earned them a pre-seed investment of €230.000 from Sabancı ARF, Sabancı Holding’s corporate accelerator program. This company is one of the biggest conglomerates in Türkye.
The funders of RumiTech created their company during the EIT Jumpstarter, contributing to our programme’s biggest goal. Our competitive platform not only provided them with a valuable opportunity to get essential business skills and create their business plan but also allowed them to showcase their solutions.
RumiTech specializes in developing smart energy solutions that efficiently store renewable energy from the sun and wind. Their groundbreaking technology goes beyond conventional applications, providing power to various IoT devices such as integrated lighting, cameras, security systems, and wireless internet, ensuring off-grid functionality 24/7. The company’s hybrid system uniquely harnesses both solar and wind energy, offering a sustainable and reliable power source.
The Plug&Play IoT platform developed by RumiTech enables remote monitoring and management of integrated systems. This comprehensive solution not only addresses the energy needs of businesses but also paves the way for residential applications. While their initial focus has been on business-to-business (B2B) products, RumiTech is actively engaged in ongoing research and development for a consumer-oriented (B2C) line.
Enes Aladas, co-founder and CEO of RumiTech, shared insights into the company’s future plans, stating, “We will use the investment we receive for R&D and production. We will also grow by adding new members to our team. Though sales operations have not commenced, we’ve received more than 40 Proof of Concept (PoC) requests and pre-orders for over 20 products. Our priority is completing PoC studies with target customers and initiating mass production.”
Aladas continued by outlining the company’s strategic vision, “Following the evaluation of our enterprise at this early stage, we aim to expand our production facility by embarking on a Seed investment tour within 1 year. This expansion will allow us to enhance production capacity.”
