Innovation drives Europe’s competitiveness, growth, and skilled jobs. Yet many innovators struggle to bring their ideas to market. The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) is changing that — connecting business, education, and research to power entrepreneurship across Europe.
Through the EIT Community, innovators gain access to funding, networks, and support to turn ideas into impactful ventures.
The EIT Innovation Awards celebrate this journey, showcasing Europe’s brightest minds and most promising projects through three flagship initiatives.
After a seven-month programme, early-stage innovators from emerging regions compete for prizes up to EUR 10,000 in seven sectors: Energy, Food, Health, New European Bauhaus, Raw Materials, Urban Mobility, and Rebuild Ukraine. Selection will also take place for the winner of EIT Jumpstarter Next, a track for programme alumni progressing validated business ideas to market entry.
Honouring outstanding achievements across four categories:
Most Promising EIT Changemaker – inspiring leaders driving positive
social impact.
Best Innovation Team – diverse teams pioneering transformative
products or services.
Most Promising Venture – emerging startups with strong growth
potential.
Public Award – the people’s favourite innovation, chosen by public
vote.
Celebrating Ukrainian women innovators, entrepreneurs, and educators whose resilience and creativity drive change and rebuild communities.
This year’s event also marks the official launch of EIT Water, the 10th EIT Knowledge and Innovation Community, focusing on water, marine, and maritime sectors.
Together, these initiatives embody Europe’s commitment to empowering innovators everywhere — ensuring no good idea goes unseen and no region is left behind.
The EIT Innovation Awards will take place on 25 November at the Budapest Congress Center.
From the city center (Deák Ferenc tér), participants can take Metro Line M2 to Széll Kálmán tér, then transfer to bus 102, 105, or 112. Get off at either BAH-csomópont or Jagelló út, both within walking distance of the venue. The same route applies when coming from Keleti Railway Station.
The Congress Center is easily accessible via the M1/M7 motorways. Parking is available in the surface lot located between the Novotel Hotel and the Congress Center. Please note that parking fees may apply.
The venue is approximately 25 km from the airport Liszt Ferenc International. Participants can take a taxi (30–40 minutes) or use public transport by taking bus 100E to Deák Ferenc tér and continuing via metro and bus as described above.
