EIT Jumpstarter Next: Europe’s Rising Innovators Shine at the EIT Innovation Awards in Budapest

The latest edition of EIT Jumpstarter Next, held during the EIT Innovation Awards, once again highlighted the strength and diversity of Europe’s innovation ecosystem.

The initiative enables alumni of selected EIT Community programmes to further develop their start-ups, offering tailored mentoring, business support, and access to networks that strengthen their prospects for scaling across Europe and abroad.

This year’s competition was exceptionally strong: the programme received 207 applications from 21 countries, from which 10 finalists were selected – and three earned a place on stage at the Grand Finale in Budapest.

2025 Jumpstarter NEXT Grand Final - the Winners

  • Winner: BrachyDOSE (Lithuania) — Founded by Neringa Šeperienė and Rimas Šeperys, BrachyDOSE presented a breakthrough med-tech solution designed to prevent up to 100 % of radiotherapy-related injuries. Their system — combining a disposable sensor, scanner and predictive algorithm — delivers ultra-precise, real-time radiation dose measurements and has already been validated in leading European oncology centres.
  • Runner-up: Biopols (Turkey) — Founded by Nerve Cansu İşeri and Sena Tarım Yalçınkaya, Biopols develops sustainable, bio-based edible coatings that extend the shelf life of fresh food. Their chitosan-based formulations slow spoilage, preserve freshness, and contribute to reducing food waste across the supply chain.

  • Runner-up: Cropler (Poland) — Founded by Nikita Bedunkevich, Cropler offers a portable multispectral “fitness tracker for fields.” The device enables farmers to detect plant stress early and can reduce manual field inspections by 30–40 %. Already used in 25 countries, Cropler provides fast, actionable insights to improve crop and soil management.

Why EIT Jumpstarter NEXT Matters

EIT Jumpstarter Next is specifically designed for alumni of earlier EIT programmes, helping them move from validated ideas to scalable businesses. The initiative provides a five-month support journey including online trainings, business development assessments, pitch-preparation sessions with investors, and targeted mentorship from industry experts.

The programme is accessible free of charge for eligible participants from EIT Regional Innovation Scheme (RIS) countries, enabling strong representation from emerging innovation ecosystems across Europe.

By supporting start-ups at a critical stage of development, EIT Jumpstarter Next plays a key role in building a more competitive, resilient and interconnected European innovation landscape.
