This year 51 applications were received from these countries, which is a slight improvement compared to last year’s 45 applications. The more ground-breaking breakthrough could be seen in the number of WB teams in the Bootcamp phase, where the number of accepted WB teams almost doubled compared to last year’s 17. Last year 10 seats were automatically reserved for WB teams, and the cancellation of this quota makes this a more significant success.
Moreover, there is a significant improvement in the number of teams who successfully pitched their idea and got admission to the second phase of the EIT Jumpstarter program. While in 2021, eight teams made it to the Local Joint Trainings phase, while this year, 20 teams will continue their journey. Seven from the Republic of North Macedonia, seven from Montenegro, five from Serbia and one from Albania.
