Getting lost in an airport or hospital might soon be a thing of the past. Based in Hungary, ARport is building an intuitive solution that transforms how people navigate large, complex buildings using just their smartphones.
Their mission? To make indoor navigation as simple as stepping outside and opening a map app.
Founded by Dávid Papp and his team, ARport develops augmented reality-based indoor navigation software that removes the need for external hardware.
Their vision is clear: to help travellers and workers move through unfamiliar environments with clarity and confidence.
In 2024, ARport joined the EIT Jumpstarter programme, competing in the Urban Mobility category—and walked away with the 2nd prize and €5,000. But the value went far beyond funding.
“The programme gave us valuable exposure, useful feedback, and access to a supportive community,” said Dávid. “It pushed us to shape our vision into a viable business model.”
Through the programme’s training and mentoring, the team sharpened their pitch, validated their concept, and connected with experts across Europe. For a product rooted in real-world movement, this mobility-focused support was crucial.
ARport’s solution is smartphone-based and doesn’t require any external hardware—a major advantage over other indoor navigation systems. Using augmented reality and 3D mapping technology, users can simply lift their phone and follow an on-screen path that overlays the real environment.
It’s an innovative, lightweight tool that can be used in airports, shopping malls, railway and bus stations, and other public buildings, solving a widespread yet often overlooked problem: indoor disorientation.
Since joining EIT Jumpstarter, ARport has achieved several key milestones:
Refined their business model and defined a clear customer segment
Secured multiple letters of intent (LOIs) from potential partners
Won the 2025 Danube Cup Hungarian Final
Continued testing with early adopters to validate their MVP
The programme gave them not just structure, but momentum. With public spaces as their starting point, they are now broadening their focus to include private sector clients—such as factories, logistics hubs, and facility management teams who face similar indoor navigation challenges.
Looking ahead, ARport plans to strengthen its presence in malls, transport hubs, and airports, while also building partnerships with private industrial clients who manage large indoor environments.
With demand growing across sectors, ARport is ready to bring clarity and efficiency to a world where navigation shouldn’t stop at the door.
ARport’s journey is a testament to what happens when innovation meets the right support at the right time.
